Lodi, California is a rapidly growing wine country destination both for recreation and for residing. Located 11 miles north of Stockton, 35 miles south of Sacramento and 90 miles east of San Francisco, it has become an increasingly popular commuter town for those seeking a less expensive housing alternative to the bay area. As of January 2009, Lodi's population estimate was 69,411. Lodi is home to over 60 wineries, many acres of nature reserves, and several boutiques and antique shops. For many years Lodi was home to Robert Mondavi, founder of Mondavi Winery, one of the most well known and influential wineries in America.
