Tracy, California, is located in the Central Valley area of California, just east of the bay area. Originally established as an agricultural area along the Central Pacific Railroad, Tracy continued to grow and prosper as a city throughout the mid-20th century. In the 1980s, Tracy experienced a growth spurt as a more affordable and less hectic alternative to the Bay Area. As of the 2007 census, Tracy’s population was 82,082. As a result of the continued growth, more companies moved to Tracy as a location for distribution facilities. Tracy is currently home to several distribution facilities and continues to bring in newer industries as hi-tech companies expand from the Silicon Valley.
